ESPLANADE BUSH NATURE WALK AND POUTOA WALKWAY
Sunday 20th July 2025 The weather was again very kind to the fourteen Forest and bird members that completed our Palmerston North walk on Sunday. The fernery and Forest and Bird nature trail surprised many with diversity of the plants and the density of the bush adjoining the Esplanade. A few of the keen walked from the Esplanade to Cliff road over the Fitzherbert bridge and the rest of us drove and biked over to the start of the Summerhill track. Ann Spring was a useful and informative guide to the plantings along the walkway and no one fell over as we cut across the very squidgy green reserve on the return journey which was a bonus. It was a lovely social trip finished off by some of us staying for coffee and lunch at the Summerhill shopping centre. Rosemary Cullen F&B Manawatū Trip Coordinator |
